About the film

Ever since the pandemic (and even a bit before) there has been a growing trend of women choosing not to dye their hair. This documentary looks at women from all over the world and examines why they have decided to stop dyeing and why women feel compelled to dye in the first place.

Max Freiman Ilise Harris


Ilise Harris is a freelance makeup and hair artist. Her long resume in the fashion and beauty industry, combined with her decision not to cover her gray hair, gave her a unique perspective on the global movement of women choosing not to cover their gray hair. She woke up one day and decided to make a documentary.

Max Freiman is a video editor in Brooklyn. He has worked on many advertisements in the makeup and beauty world as well as the films in the Deconstructing the Beatles series.
