A look at how secondary progressive affects one of the 90 percent of people afflicted with MS who will get it. Part of a potential full-length documentary, this short gives viewers a raw and quick look into the life of a woman who has battled Multiple Sclerosis for over 40 years and was forced to face the reality that most of those afflicted will face—a reality where the disease wins.

About the film
In 2019, I created a personal film called "The Deepest Cut," which focused on my brother's life with Multiple Sclerosis, told from his perspective and those of his mother, father, and son.
Four years later, I completed another side of living with Multiple Sclerosis, but this time from the perspective of my mother. This look at the disease does not spare the viewer of its ruthlessness. The narration is honest and matter-of-fact, if not a bit stoic. But through this, we glimpse the underlying core of a drained and fragile spirit.
This is a story all viewers can empathize with, even if they aren't familiar with Mulitiple Sclerosis. We all must deal with the affects of declining physical and mental health on our family. We can all relate to the heartbreak of seeing our loved ones become a shadow of what they used to be, as they plod through each day as normally as they can.
This short documentary is a potential tease to a full-length piece about a family maneuvering through life's obstacles as best as they can, in the spirit of the everyman.
